Futures in Education, Inc. was founded in 1985 by Karen Glynn Bishop, Ed.D. Her primary goals were to assist students find academic success and empower staff, instructors, students, and families. She envisioned a school modeled after Oxford University in England where students learned by meeting individually with their teachers, rather than in a traditional classroom. She sought to involve students more in their learning process, teaching respect, responsibility, and relationships.
